As introduced in my last post, I ask if Stephen Hawking was a brilliant scientist or a cosmic orphan. More appropriately, did he feel more like a brilliant scientist or a person with an orphan spirit, not knowing the purpose in which he was made? Making it difficult to reveal the deeper side of Hawking is the public persona that obscures. This post is an attempt to find out the real Hawking behind public perceptions. I guess you could call this post, “Psycho-analyzing Hawking, A Christian Perspective”, and in the process to demystify some atheist memes and share a little about my own journey to home. My posts are summarized as follows: 1) Hawking’s final conclusions about God and the universe in his book “The Grand Design” are purposely incoherent but masked in confidence. 2) The heavy hitters of science disagree with it. 3) He probably knew this but did it anyway. 4) This reveals more about the deeper side of Hawking than his public persona does. 5) A person can truly know himself fully when we know God fully. (The Heavy Hitters of Science disagree.)
I recall my own journey. Just like Hawkings, I too got “crippled” at what was to be the prime of a man’s life, there was so much I wanted to do, my bodily components failed, and my brain functions also started to fail as well. Experience told me to despair, but intellect led me to hope. In that spirit, there are three things I would like to tell Dr. Hawkins. … More Stephen Hawking: Brilliant Scientist or Cosmic Orphan? 3 things I wish to tell him.
Jesus was not born into a utopia, he was born into a world full of grime and chaos. He was like a golden nugget of truth in a dank dirt-filled mine. At Christmas, God finally revealed a truth from deep within His heart. This revelation completed the puzzle-box of revealing what his love looks like and our place in this cosmic story. Like a diamond created under centuries of grime, darkness, and pressure – please also allow me to go past the superficial and share with you something deep from within mine (pun intended)? … More Christmas – my season of disgust (aka my Empire Strikes Back) (Part 1)
Went on an impromptu 4 hour drive. The drive may seem mundane to most people, especially in America, but I remembered the days that I wouldn’t go outdoors for more than 2 hours before the climate would “eat” into my flesh and I would be forced indoors… I can’t describe how I felt to know I am going out at will. … More Going to David Wood vs Michael Shermer @ KSU, GA 10/10/2016 (Thoughts on the drive there)
