I spend years alone on Valentine’s Day wondering “who could love someone like me?”, while looking at how decades of an autoimmune disease ravaged my body, my career, relationships and mind. Doctors, charismatic prayer meetings, yoga and supplements were hardly enough to stop the decline. This post is to testify how God’s love changed everything and … More From Curses to Cupcakes – A Valentine’s Day story.
Pursuing music became a bittersweet memory. Collaborating with other Christian strangers was uncomfortable… I couldn’t trust. Going outdoors was a dreaded idea. Seeing my own reflection in a mirror or picture reminded me of how far I had fallen. Here’s my response today. I’ll do music, with video, with new Christian brothers around the world. I’ll just do all the things I was afraid of doing. Why not? There’s Jesus. Perfect love drives out all fear. Thank you Jesus. Happy birthday. … More What Christian Apologists do when bored (featuring David Wood)
It was only about 7 years ago that dignity was totally stripped from me. Fingers were cracked and inflamed such that I could no longer hold an instrument anymore. But I didn’t want Him to repair my life, that is too trivial for GRACE. The God of the Bible is a God of New Things. See the new thing in the wasteland? The newness of life? The new creation? New intoxicating wine? New wine skins? My Response to the Problem of Evil. Michael Shermer “really liked that answer”. At David Wood vs Michael Shermer debate (Does God exist?) 10/10/2016. I first thanked him and shared how I actually enjoyed listening to him. I proceeded to tell him I had 2 questions for him, but I have to share my history first – the senseless long suffering. I was also an ex-skeptic, lost many years of life and was disappointed in the Church / God at that time too. When I said, “I have struggled with this question for years”, we looked eye-to-eye and I think we recognized something in each other that had mutual respect. … More My Response to the Problem of Evil. Actually, at that moment Michael ‘cracked’, I actually felt for him. For those questions were very real for me too, especially when I lost EVERYTHING. The funny thing is, I actually have a thesis for that question which I have been preparing for some time, which is slightly different from the classical answers. I was going to ask him during the open-mic time. I lined up, but before it got to my turn, it was times up. So I spoke to Michael after the debate. After I shared my story, and then gave my opinion on how to solve the syllogism… I was very surprised when he said,” I really liked that answer”. … More Thoughts on David Wood vs Michael Shermer @ KSU, GA 10/10/2016
Went on an impromptu 4 hour drive. The drive may seem mundane to most people, especially in America, but I remembered the days that I wouldn’t go outdoors for more than 2 hours before the climate would “eat” into my flesh and I would be forced indoors… I can’t describe how I felt to know I am going out at will. … More Going to David Wood vs Michael Shermer @ KSU, GA 10/10/2016 (Thoughts on the drive there)
Pilate and Jesus. One is on the side of power and accusation, the other like a lamb to be slaughtered. Pilate had already seen it all. He was the original Millennial of 0 A.D, before the Millennials of 2000 A.D. Even more so, this guy actually had great achievements. He was revered and envied. If he had Facebook, every small thought he posts would have thousands of likes by sycophants. Take a page from Pilate. Achievements on desperate display cannot fill up the God-shaped hope in your heart. … More Millennials and the Elephant in the Room – Pilate and Jesus (Part 2 of 5)
