This recommendation marks a far cry from where I used to be. I went from being called a broken leper pariah, to a charismatic stock market ninja. This post is actually not about the recommendation. It’s about what God can do in real terms on the journey of redemption. … More From a Broken Leper Pariah to Stock Market Ninja. A tale of a 30% upside stock market recommendation nested inside a Christian testimony.
Why are these Orchids pretty? They were a little intrusive. Isn’t great beauty like this? It’s made out of complementing AND competing colors. God makes the good and bad and makes a masterpiece. … More Dissonant beauty in Orchids (Vlog)
It was only about 7 years ago that dignity was totally stripped from me. Fingers were cracked and inflamed such that I could no longer hold an instrument anymore. But I didn’t want Him to repair my life, that is too trivial for GRACE. The God of the Bible is a God of New Things. See the new thing in the wasteland? The newness of life? The new creation? New intoxicating wine? New wine skins? NEW. 新. חָדָשׁ. νέος … More Don’t be afraid to do the beautiful New, as New Things do.

Went on an impromptu 4 hour drive. The drive may seem mundane to most people, especially in America, but I remembered the days that I wouldn’t go outdoors for more than 2 hours before the climate would “eat” into my flesh and I would be forced indoors… I can’t describe how I felt to know I am going out at will. … More Going to David Wood vs Michael Shermer @ KSU, GA 10/10/2016 (Thoughts on the drive there)
Pilate and Jesus. One is on the side of power and accusation, the other like a lamb to be slaughtered. Pilate had already seen it all. He was the original Millennial of 0 A.D, before the Millennials of 2000 A.D. Even more so, this guy actually had great achievements. He was revered and envied. If he had Facebook, every small thought he posts would have thousands of likes by sycophants. Take a page from Pilate. Achievements on desperate display cannot fill up the God-shaped hope in your heart. … More Millennials and the Elephant in the Room – Pilate and Jesus (Part 2 of 5)
This is the heart of post-modernism, that there is no truth beyond the truth that we I make. In today’s climate, we live in sad contradiction. We are supposed to make our own goal posts, yet we feel pressured when others excel more than us. We are supposed to celebrate “doing things our own way” and “being ourselves”, until you step on some others who are also “being themselves”. As they say, today’s diplomacy is giving you permission to do things my way. But making men, including one’s self, the ultimate authority for truth and reality has always been a bad idea. Which dictator do you know who was not subject to a better higher power actually turned out well? Being forced to contend with the full force of relativism was a war on my mind. … More Millennials and The Elephant in the Room. (Part 1 of 5)
The life of Vincent Van Gogh has always stuck a chord within me. I fear it’s because I have a little bit of him inside. He was a man of God, but had such great empathy and idealism that didn’t do well in the cold, cynical world. That same empathy that caused such vivid art was also the same empathy in which he tried to follow the convictions of what love was. That great empathy was likely met with greater disappointment. That ark of empathy seemed worn down by the deluge of the suffering around him. Some nights, especially the cold ones, I feel a little worn down by what I see in the world around me too. … More Vincent: Beauty for Madness
“This love is stronger than any mountain… and its deeper than the need in you.” The more of God’s love we take in during our moments of brokenness, the greater the final product of our heart and soul will be. Please do take a listen, and tell me what you think. … More Song Share: This Love – Jackson Finch
Song Share: Take Me With You – Samuel Lane. Running notes on consistent chords remind me of how we may feel stuck, yet something deep is changing for the better. The eye cannot see it. Doctors cannot see it. Parents cannot see it. Friends cannot see it. But you know that deep in your heart, your soul has seen it, that’s why it moves you. Your soul has seen it because God has already done it and has allowed you to have a glimpse of it. … More Song Share: Take Me With You – Samuel Lane
